Events Calendar
In a effort to entertain and foster friendships among members and their guests, the St. George’s Society of Baltimore sponsors seasonal events annually.
In the spring it’s the St.George’s Day Dinner at the legendary Maryland Club where the roast beef of Old England is served with the all traditional fare and ceremony that is quintessential Britain.
Summer is the time for the St. George’s Polo Cup in beautiful Harford County. Held at the Maryland Polo Grounds, members and their quests are treated to afternoon cocktails, lunch, and exciting polo. As anything British, there is always pageantry and color. This event offers a parade of carriages, vintage cars, bagpipes , a presentation of colors and divot dancing to classic British rock. The proceeds from the St. George’s Cup go to the Society’s foundation to benefit The Invictus Games and Help For Heroes.
Rule Britannia, Britannia Rules the Waves! In the autumn, the Society celebrates Nelson’s victory at the Battle of Trafalgar with all the trappings of the traditional naval galley dinner with a toast of port to his Lordship’s immortal memory. Come aboard with all the salutes and whistles of period Royal Navy officers and Marines together with representatives of Naval Attaches Office of the British Embassy.
Warm up in the winter with our Prince of Wales Brunch and Lecture series. Each year the Society sponsors a speaker on popular subjects related to Great Britain and Anglo-American Affairs. Past subjects have included Winston Churchill, Charles, The Prince of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
